How to turn off dimension auto snapping?

I have forgotten how to do this and can't see anything in Help. What I mean is when you are placing multiple dimensions, sometimes dimensions nearby or adjacent to the placed one will suddenly jump to a new location, like they are trying to snap to some underlying grid. How do you turn this off. When I place a dimension I want it to stay where I placed it.

I find the dimension alignment feature useful (when you drag a dimension and you get the yellow dashed alignment lines appearing and the dimension snaps to the alignment, but definitely not this automatic snapping that really does not want to be overridden even when you reposition the snapped dimension - it snaps straight back. Very annoying on dimension heavy drawings!
