In the FeatureManager design tree, right-click the sub-assembly and select "component properties". In the lower right corner of the properties dialog, select "Flexible".

I was able to do this before but I cannot for the life of me remember how....
I have an assembly with 2 shock absorber assemblies that are acting like fixed units.
Any idea on how to have them act as they're supposed to?
