configurations in BOM

could anyone of you help me regarding how to call a perticular configuration in BOM............

I'm using configurations at assembly level, and when I insert the BOM in drawing it is showing all the configurations.
How can i call that perticular configuration into BOM which is active at the assembly level.
for ex: let's say I've config-A, B, C at assy level. now lets say I'm in config-A & I want the Bom to show only config-A in the drawings. when I toggle between the configurations at the assembly level I want the same changes to be in BOM, instead of setting the BOM manually.

No one else has this question

First of all there is an option on drawings from Tools->Options->Document Properties->Detailing->Tables - Restrict top level... (see attached image)
If that option is checked when you insert a BOM it will contain only one configuration. You can change the configuration listed, in BOM properties.

  but my question was, how to contorl the parts and the quantity in BOM depending upon the selected configuration in the assy.
  ya. As you told (Restrict to top level only) i can get it by doing this.
  but, when i toggle in the assy from one config-A to config-B the qty & the parts list in the BOM is not getting updated directly.
  again i've to set to the req'd config in the bom.
  I want the bom qty to be derived from the configurations directly from the assy level.
  Is there any way to get this?????

You can make this change on drawings template and all the drawings will list in BOM only one configuration

  go the the part in question and then
  
  click properties on the configturation you want,
  
  there is a spot where it says " Bill of Materials Options"
  
  this is where you tell solidworks to display the configuraion name in the BOM when the part is used on assemblies.
  
  so select "configuration Name" now the exact config name will be called out in BOMS even if u have the part used in multiple assemblies or multi configs on the same assembly choose that option for all configs and you'll be straigt.
