We have EPDM setup and are using it to route our documentation through all the different departments for document approval. All is fine, but I'm having a difficult time teaching some of the non-technical departments (purchasing, sales, etc) the concept of configurations. The only reason I'm trying to educate them is that some of the documents being routed are configuration based, and they are not getting it.
I have a computer science background, so for me it was almost second nature since it is very similar to object oriented design. I have even went back in my software engineering text books to try and find some simple examples, but all the examples seem to complicated for non-programmers.
Short of teaching them Solidworks and why configurations are a good thing, does anyone else have any ideas on how to teach configurations to non-technical colleagues?
