I needed to add an internal P/N to a screw. I RMB on a TB part and picked edit toolbox definition and got the below error, I then RMB and picked component properties and changed the config. Redid the RMB on a TB part and picked edit toolbox definition, this time it worked and I was able to finish. Anyone know what went wrong?
This error will display if you "edit definition" a toolbox component using a toolbox installation different from the one it was created on. SW2010 uses a different mechanism to restore the toolbox property manager, so you shouldn't see this as long as the assembly is newer than SW2006.
Shouldn't and didn't are two different things. Many things that happen in all software shouldn't. This was a 2008 original assembly.

I had the same problem. It would just happen randomly and I would have to close and re-open solidworks to clear it up. I was using a x32 system at the time and when I went to x64 the problem stopped, I never did figure out what caused it though.
