I have an assembly here that takes several minutes to load, or rebuild, and all the drawings I create from it have the same issues.
Yes it has several configurations, mainly to allow various views in the drawings.
Some coloured to aid reading of the drawings.
Some top down modelled to keep the models current as things moved during designing.
I know all these things start to rapidly increase the load/rebuild times for a file and Im trying to learn which modelling methods have a minimum negitave effect on times.
I see part files have a tool (feature statistics) which Ive used to test modelling methods on individual parts.
Ive heard that assemblies work the fastest when mates are non existant (part files fixed rather than mated), This cant always be achieved particularly when using libarary parts, but for 1 off parts or assemblies, particular to an individual upper level assembly it may make a difference.
How do you quantify this? I cant find a timer for rebuilding assys or drawings.
Is there one?
