I am trying to model the resonant frequencies of a clamped beam subjected to various axial load. I found the frequency study didn't include non-linear analysis. I wonder if anyone here would have any good suggestion.
Hi Shih-chi: The SW 2010 includes in-plane stiffening automatically, but you have to use the Direct Sparse solver. Just create one study with no axial load, and duplicate it to a second study and apply an axial load on the second study. Then you can run the command "Run all studies" and compare frequencies. You should see differences. In earlier versions of SW, you have to edit the study properties and look for a switch labled "in-plane effects" (I believe that was for SW/CW 2008 and before).
Thanks Athony. This answers my question! Shih-chi
