I have a simple excel spread sheet that determines a basic trajectory of a particle. This spread sheet generates a set of points (X & Y) that define the distance of a particle over a set of time intervals, and therefore a curved trajectory.

I would like to use these points in Solidworks to define a curve and then a simple extrusion.

I thought I may be able to recreate this spreadsheet in SW and assign the specific X & Y points generated in the spreadsheet to X & Y dimensions for a set of points in a sketch (defining the curve), but so far no luck.

Does anyone have any idea how/if this can be done.

Thanks,

Jason

There are at least 2 ways to do it.

1. If you have SolidWorks Premium, use the ScanTo3D add-in to insert a 3D Spline..

2. Add a column for the Z points in the Excel Spreadsheet, Save it as a text file and use the

Curve Through XYZ Points.
