Any ideas of how to run apply at excitation at an angle to the global coordinates? I am attempting to simulate a crash of my assembly and I would like the excitation to apply at a 20 degree angle from the front plane. Any suggestions as to how to do it?
I tried building the part on a 20% plane and SolidWorks does not like doing that. I also tried creating the part and then putting it on a different plane. In addition, I tried applying the sin and cosine multiplies to the global planes only to have SolidWorks tell me that I can only apply the excitation in one direction.
Thank you.
I modeled the parts on a 20 degree angle and fixed the geometry at the bolt holes. Next, I changed the center of gravity by rotating it 20 degrees. Last, I simply ran the simulations with selected base excitation in the horizontal and vertical planes.
