Round Beam Structure

I am analyzing a beam structure and ran into an issue. Most of my structure is made out of weldments that I treat as beam for the FEA. I have one member that is a ring made out of a bent tube. I modeled this by revolving a round cross section. When I include the ring in the analysis, I can no longer add loads to the joints of the beam structure. This option is not available. I tried to treat the ring as a shell and the option still wasn't available. I cannot come up with a way to make treat the ring as a beam. Is there something that I am missing? Or should I just model the ring as a polygon with many sides to simulate a round ring? Thoughts?
