We use NavisWorks to assemble (Machine Layout) our Paper Converting machine sections for interference detection, design reviews, customer reviews, assembly assistance, etc.  We are currently on SW2007 which NavisWorks opens native.  Today all I need to do is open the assembly in NavisWorks and it updates by looking at the native part files.

We are moving to SW2010 in Aug. and since Autodesk bought NavisWorks SolidWorks Corp. does not want to play nice anymore.  We will know have to export our models out to a parasolid, creating tons of dumb files, in order for NavisWorks can open it...not to redoing the whole process when something is updated.

3DVIA could be the answer but the price tag is fairly high and the conversion process for our Sections takes hours verses secondss in NavisWorks.

The question I have is, is anybody using NavisWorks? How are you dealing with Assembly files beyond SW2007.

Thanks.
