We do most of our design work in Solid Works and AutoCAD and have eDrawings installed on the rest of the employees workstations so, that they can view those files from time to time. When our (non-engineering) users try to open a file with eDrawings it defaults to the "eDrawings Files (*.eprt,*.easm,*.edrw,*.eprtx,*.easmx,*.edrwx)" file type and many of our users don't understand that they need to change that, using, say, AutoCAD as an example, to "DXF/DWG Files (*.dxf,*.dwg)" so that the Open dialog will list the AutoCAD files available in that directory.
We'd like to configure eDrawings to default to "All Files (*.*)" or even "DXF/DWG Files (*.dxf,*.dwg)" in the open dialog to make things easier for them. I don't see any obvious way to do this though. Nothing is leaping out of the registry or in the installation directory to configure this.
Any help would be appreciated!

I don't know if this will work on all machines, but it is working for us right now. On Windows 7 64 bit, if you change eDrawings compatibility settings to "Windows XP", then open eDrawings, and set "Files of type:" to "All Files (*.*)", the next time you open Edrawings, it should still be set to "All Files (*.*)" Hope this helps. Using eDrawings was very frustrating until I figured this out.
