i have an assembly that i would like to render. however, when i open the model up in PV360 there is a few parts missing. when i open the assembly in SW the model if fine and everything is in its correct place. whats wrong???
Try doing a CTRL+Q and resaving.
Does your model have configurations?
that did the trick. thanks.
Cool trick - where'd you get that one?
Ctrl-Q is a forced regen - rebuild on steroids. It's a common tool when troublshooting SW issues.
I also had a customer with exactly this problem yesterday and he told me Ctrl-Q fixed it
Thanks! I tried doing that earlier in the day because I'd seen you say to someone else to try that but it didn't seem to do anything but then I opened the program again a couple of hours later and it had updated
When I am doing Ctrl+Q the photoview360 2010 was shut. so confused.
I am having a sort of similar issue at the moment. I have brought my assembley file into Photoview (it doesn't have any configurations) and I added some appearances and saved it. Then I went back into Solidworks and made a few changes to my model like a split line and some extrudes and things but then when I opened it again in Photoview, none of my changes had updated. I have tried closing Photoview and reopening it and closing Solidworks and reopening it and saving the file in a different place with a different name but nothing has worked. If anyone knows why this might be happening and knows how to fix it I would be extremely appreciative!
Try doing a save as and checking the save as copy button. save to a different folder and check it again. ( make sure you give it a different name)
Personally, i never save my models in PV360, for this reason.
