I wonder if there is a SW certified graphics card for a Dell Inspiron 9400 to run SW2010.
Since the Dell Inspiron 9400 doesn't show up on Dell's web site or on the list of Dell computers on the SW graphics card site, I'm guessing that it is an older machine. If so, SW is unlikely to test it for 2010.
Since Inspiron seems to be the name for the family and student machines, I suspect that it probably doesn't have a very good graphics card. (Although I seem to remember that there were some pretty powerful Inspiron machines a number of years ago.)
As Anna said, there is nothing you can do about the built in graphics card. And you can't find the best driver for it if SW doesn't test it. You're stuck with trial and error. Maybe someone else is running 2010 on one and can tell you what they are using.
Being a laptop you will not be able to swap out the video card. They are hard soldered to the motherboard.
I'll try speaking to a Dell Vendor because the Inspiron Work Station is somewhat upgradable.
Many Thanks guys.
