Problem with Curve Drive Pattern in Assy

Hello Solidworkers!

I've create the hole with Hole wizard in assembly, check option Propagate feature to parts. Create sketch in assembly-> draw line. Try to pattern hole on editing parts. On editing assembly i can't create the "pattern on curve", feature Curve drive pattern appears on assembly featuremanager, but not drawing on details.

May be this feature isn't available for assy?

SW2010 SP3.0, Win XP32 SP3

I can't answer your question, but I can give you a work around. Instead of using an assembly feature that you propagate to the part, just edit the part in the assembly and use the hole wizard and curve driven pattern inside the part.

Instead of using an assembly feature that you propagate to the part, just edit the part in the assembly and use the hole wizard and curve driven pattern inside the part.

I've know this method for work, but one is long and "no parametric". I want to know this is limitate of a kernel SW or unknown bug?

May be anyone from Solidworks Corp have comment for my questions?

Why do you say the feature in the part is not parametric? You should be able to make it parametric, just like you can in the assembly. (I don't use Hole Wizard holes, so I may be way off base here.)

I may illustrate my words.

I have any parts and I want to have identical features (equal dimension for sketch, equal number of features) in the parts. If I'll be make Curve driven pattern feature I must:

Link number of instances for each part with global parameter.
Editing each part and create pattering whitin one.

This method is good for little amount of part. I've more than two parts

And now important!

The Solidworks has tool Hole (Cut and other) for assy enviroment with option Propagate feature. My idea is:

Create the sketch in the assy.
Create feature Hole, points the parts for this feature and FINISH.

Linear Pattern in the assy enviroment work good, but ONLY for part on wich I've created the feature in the assy. For another part the linear pattern is wrong.
