Hello All,
We have recently installed SW2010 64Bit SP2.1 and I am told by my IT guy that there are conflicts with the Microsoft Intelli Mouse Drivers.
Apparently they are not willing to install the correct drivers because of these conflicts. Thus I have a 6 button mouse with 3 useless buttons because
I cannot configure them. I used to set my thumb button up as the rotate command but don't have the ability to do so now.
I'm just wondering if anyone else has come across a similiar issue and/or if there is a fix for this problem? SP3.0 Maybe??
From http://www.eng-tips.com/faqs.cfm?fid=1209 : maybe theIT guys will let you try a fix? They can always roll back the driver.
I use a MicroSoft IntelliMouse Explorer. But I've seen this same problem with other wheel mice. You often - & for no apparent reason - loose the ability to zoom with your wheek button. Here's the fix:
Get to your MOUSE PROPERTIES dialog box...
START > SETTINGS > CONTROL PANEL. Under the WHEEL tab, in the WHEEL TROUBLESHOOTER box, click ADVANCED. Then DISABLE ALL INTELLIPOINT SOFTWARE WHEEL SUPPORT... Add SolidWorks to the list of programs. (Might as well add SolidWorks Explorer & E Drawings too.)
Apparently, SolidWorks manages the wheel & will conflict with the Microsoft mouse drivers
... go figure.
