using the SW installtion manager, i performed a repair on my SW2010 SP3.1 cuz some wierd things were happening after i changed drive letters which i imagine messed up some directories. i changed the drive letters back to original and after the repair i get this message, "which is nice" except that solidworks exited upon selecting ok. last thing i want to do is get on the horn w/my supplier, which is who? to find out what the heck is wrong. i then restarted SW and it seems to work fine.
I did a quick search on the KB - and it seems this could be related to a couple of things, although the specific number that appears at the end was not listed in the solutions I saw. Please see below:
C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\SolidWorks\Licenses (XP)
C:\ProgramData\SolidWorks\Licenses (Windows7)
Additionally, run the following command from a DOS/Command Prompt
C:\>”C:\<SolidWorks Install Folder>setup\i386\swactwiz.exe/”dellic /primprod:solidworks
Once these actions are completed, launch SolidWorks and (re)activate.
This error is typically caused when the regional settings on the machine are not set in accordance with the SolidWorks serial number. If SolidWorks was purchased and registered in North America, please make sure the regional settings on that machine are set to US English. One thing to look out for is that the user may have changed these settings when traveling abroad.
I couldn't find anything else i'm afraid.
