I need some help with converting this part to sheet metal.
This is an exported body from weldment.
I can make it separated, but I need it converted, so it has the reference to the original body.
Sorry can't open the part in SW but looking on the viewer I can see that you have a difference in material thickness where you have made the cut through the ring, this is where your problem lies.
You will have to adapt the cut so the material thickness is constant ( cut has to be normal to face ( Perpendicular))
PS Just tried to do this in SW2009 its more of a PITA than I thought
You can supress the cut , covert to SM , unfold the part and put the cut on the flat pattern then fold the part again but you need to know the cut profile.
You are correct for the material thickness.
I have made it again, with lofted sheet metal and placed the cut inside the sketch profile. I exported it again from the weldment, and converted to sheet metal.
Now I have a problem with the flat pattern. If I edit the flat pattern instead of fixed face, there is fixed edge.. :-| and it is not possible to select the face. Enclosed picture.
Not possible to unfold either.
I have SW 2010, that's why you cannot open it.
It worked quite well for me with the Insert Bends command. (Note: I did get an error about SW not finding a part)
See attached image.
Enclosed is the edrawings and new part...
I dont understand edge selection in face field, when editing the flat-pattern feature...
See attached part.
Thank you very much. This one is correct.
I would never try this one.
