I have 3 parts drawings in an assembly drawing. I already positioned all the three together using the mate tool. But I need to move only two of them one inch. I tried to position the parts exactly where I wanted them using the mate tool, but I could not find how. Now that the parts are together only the whole things move using the move component. How can I move only the part I want and exactly the distance I need. Thank you.
Diego, it sounds like you've mated the parts only relative to one another. Generally, when you start an assembly, the first part of that assembly is "Fixed" to the origin/planes of the assembly. If you "Float" this part, you'll want to make sure the other parts in the assembly are somehow mated absolutely to the origin/planes of the assembly, or everything will be free to float around indefinitely. Choose one of your parts to act as the absolute anchor of the assembly, and if you mate your other parts relative to that anchor part, the Coincident, Distance, and other mates should place those other parts exactly where you want them.
