We're looking at getting rid of some of our old hardware & virtualizing the servers. We currently use SNL with a USB Dongle. Can we Virtualize this server & will the USB dongle be recognized or will we have to use something like UBox ?

We are currently running our license server on an VMWare server. I could not find anywhere if this approach is supported by SolidWorks, but we have not had any issues. Even better is that since SW2010 uses Software Activation instead of the USB Dongle, we didn't have to worry about dealing with VM and USB.
Thanks guys! I'll give it a go and see what happens. I forgot about the SNL activation, I'd only just added an extra license to our system last month as well.

Virtual Servers are NOT supported officially... however, I have not seen anyone that says they are using them post issues yet. And, yes 2010 without the USB Dongle will make that much easier.
