Do you have any custom add-ins running? I have seen this in the past and it has popped up here and there in the last few months. One of our users from the UK told me that if they turn our custom add-in (a custom program that runs inside of SolidWorks) off they do not get this anymore. The thing that baffles me is that it does not happen to all users and seems to be sporadic when it does.
You might try turning off any add-ins to eliminate rule them out.

We are running SW2007 SP4, SWE-PDM2008 SP4 and are going to 2010 in the beginning of August.
As you suggested, i turned of some add-ins that i had. It would seem that this may have cured the problem. I will have to wait and see over the next week or so.
