How can I add more than 2 plugs into a standard cable?

To Whom May Concern,

Recently I been look at electrical routing, can anyone tell me how to add more than 2 plug into a standard cable please. The reason I want to use standard cable function is because I have design a harness which consists of 9 plugs connect to a 20ways plug and I would like to use this harness apply in other places and try to rout the the extra length of harness in some shape. (same harness apply in else where can reduce the cost of manufacturing )

If you make a From-To list, you should be able to do what you want. It will allow you to have more than 2 connectors and route the wires as desired.

  i am also trying to create multi connector (2+) standard cable, but can't get the "standard cable" function to work.
  So I am trying the From-To list, but I can't seem to define the length of the cable. Is there a way to do so with From-To list?

Hi Ken,

I think what you're trying to do here falls in between the two methods/features (standard cables & from/to lists).

- Standard cables will give you a fixed length run of cable between 2 connectors but at this time does not support more than 2 connectors.
- From/to lists will give you the ability to route between 2+ connectors very quickly but will not honour a fixed length between fittings.

What I'd suggest here is that you use a from/to list, as advised and then use the Fixed Length feature by RMB on the spline which you wish to constrain to a given, stock length and set the length after placing the connectors and converting the guidelines into real routes.

That should give you what you require at this time and providing you've not clipped the spline before you fix the length meaning that we can't manipulate the spline as required, SW should give you the cable length you require between your connectors.
