    driveshaft unbalance

      Hi,

       

      I am trying to find the effect of a driveshaft unbalance on a pump structure.

      How can I model this in a dynamic frequency study?

       

      I tried to model it as a radial force, but this doesn't seem to give the right answer.

      I'm not quite sure how to model the constantly rotating force caused by the unbalance in the driveshaft.

      Neither do I know how to model the constant rational speed of 1800rpm / 30Hz.....

       

      Does anybody know how to tackle this problem?

          Under External Loads, add a centrifugal load for rotational speed and direction.  You can specify an acceleration if necessary.  Also, try using a "remote load/mass" or a "distributed mass".  I haven't tried it, but it seems logical... Maybe try adding the load in various locations and amounts.  Good luck with it.
