Hi, i've a hard problem with sw10+excel using files with table in my internal network.
here you can see what's append: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ieagJqiVHzk
If I prepare an Excel table with SW and I want to save it in disk c: \ ... I have no problems.
But if I want to save that table to another network drive (z: \ ..), SW shows an error and adds "_new" to my file !!!!!
If the file is renamed, it loses all connections and this is a big problem for us.
I reported this problem in July 2009 to SW, SW says it is a problem but not urgent: (
You have the same problem? You may also report them (this would help us)?
You have solved another way?
Still a problem with 2011 x64 SP3.0. on 1/23/2012. I need to use a macro enabled spreadsheet - .xlsm - but Solidworks doesn't recognize that format, so I've saved it back to a 2003 .xls file which can contain macros. When the file is saved with the "_new" it strips away all (both) of the macros and I lose the functionality. Worse: this was done to allow non-Solidworks users to open a file in Excel, modify the configuration, and close it without needing to open SW proper.
