I am currently a co-op student working on a Solidworks project and I have used Unigraphics at school. My question is are you able to unite the parts in an assembly to make one solid? If so, how do I go about doing this? Thank you.
In your Assembly, go to SAVE AS and choose PART.
Then Open the Part file and you will have two SOLID BODIES. Highlight the bodies and choose COMBINE and you should have a single bodies part.
that method will work, but your new part will not update with changes to the original parts. if that doesn't bother you, stop here.
to make a part that will update, insert a blank part into your assembly. edit that part in the assembly and use the "join" feature (indert->features->join) and select all of the parts you want to join.
