I just recently started using the Sheet Metal features in SolidWorks, and I can't exactly figure how to add miter flanges to the opening of this triangular enclosure (triangle.jpg).
When I use the feature, I sketch a line profile in the direction I want the flange to go as shown in the picture, but when I select another edge, the flange isn't generated for the other edges.
I want it to end up like how the picture is shown in triangle2.jpg. At the moment I'm simply using 4 edge flanges and editting the geometry so each of the flanges curve in at a 45 degree angle.
Thanks Dustin, I'm currently just sticking with the edge flange and relating the sketches and it's enough for now. It's unfortunate that the miter flange feature can't be used to create this sort of geometry.
Just a thought - how do you plan to form that part? Would it make more sense to make it in two pieces that are welded together?

If you pan to make it out of one piece, how will you form it? It seems to me that it will be quite difficult to form the last bend.
