I've noticed Solidworks is using only 13% (1/8th) of my 8 core i7 CPU for anything feature manager related. That makes most of my day to day tasks run at the same speed as the old iMac I was using with SW 2009. Besides the benefits for Photoview 360 rendering and RealView support with my Quadro Card, can people tell me why everyone is recommending i7 CPU's for new systems when SolidWorks can't seem to handle more than 1 core at a time? Wouldn't it be better to build an old pentium 4 machine at 3.5GHZ?
Thanks,
