I am trialing SW2010 SP2.1 here at home, and I have come across this strange phenomena - 4 bodies within the weldment have merged (2x structural members and 2x boss extrudes) into 1 body, mucking up my cut list!!!!
Any ideas why this is happening? part attached for anyone who wants to check how it has happened
Most bizarre!
I've also noted funny things happening here with weldments 2010 as have others. https://forum.solidworks.com/message/149673#149673
Its a case of one step forward and three backwards for me at the moment.
As Deepak suggested, if you have any features downstream (like an extruded cut or solid, etc.) you need to make sure you uncheck the "merge result" box or the new feature(s) will fuse anything it touches into a single body. This is normal behavior, so I wouldn't expect this to be particular to weldments.
Yes, that is what has done it - if I merge the 2 extrudes that depict the bolt (shown green and yellow), it also merges into the RHS it is connected to and the adjacent RHS member (even unconnected!!).
To me this seems strange and undesired - I only want to merge the bolt pieces into 1 so I can name it as a bolt in the cut list....
Any other workarounds possible besides placing the bolts on in an assembly?
