Adding custom properties

I''m trying to understand how the property mappings work in Workgroup PDM.

I would like to create a new property in VaultAdmin, and then link it to a Configuration Specific Property in our part and/or assembly files.

How do I do this? I can't seem to figure it out.

Does your concept work if you do it as property of the part and not as configuration specific?
I have done peoperty mappings here and it is working fine. However, we do not do configuration specific properties. So, not sure about that.

    Actually, I see it now. I took another look after reading your reply and see where those properties are at now.

    In the VaultAdmin goto the Properties tab and add the name of the property. Next time you check in a part it will link up. I did notice that the property also went into the main Custom Properties, but the value only stayed in the config specific. Goofy to say the least but it should work.
