eDrawings error in Win7

Error executing the command 'D:\Program Files\Common Files\eDrawings2009\EModelViewer.exe "Then File name and location".

Anytime I click on View/Markup...

Any thoughts?

Correct Answer

Search for the location of your eModelViewer.exe. On my win7 x64 machine it was under C:\Program Files (x86)\SolidWorks Corp\SolidWorks eDrawings. Then setup your viewer settings and browse to this location. Do not forget to include the argument "%1%" after the path to eModelViewer. If you cannot find it, you may have to install eDrawings Professional.

Nicole,

Try playing around with the user-settings under PDM Administration. (You need admin rights)
Select the User, probably yourself, right click and select settings, then under viewer select the Emodel viewer (with proper location and argument)
see pic...
Maybe the location of the Emodel Viewer is wrong.

  It worked fine when we moved to 2010 for EPDM and SW but problem only showed up when moved to Win7

    Are you using E-Drawings 2010?
    Because if you have SW2010 files and you still have E-Drawings 2009 you will get an error message as well.
    You need E-Drawings 2010 to see SW2010 files.

    Nicole, your viewer settings is set to your eDrawings2009 folder if it is even still there. Change it to "%CommonProgramFiles%\eDrawings2010\EModelViewer.exe".

        I reset mine earlier today and this is a copy and paste of my current location
        
        %ProgramFiles% (x86)\SolidWorks Corp\SolidWorks eDrawings\EModelViewer.exe "%1%"

        That is what mine looks like and it works for me.
        
        If you double click on that eModelViewer.exe in windows explorer, does it launch eDrawings viewer?

        Sorry, had gone home for the day. Yes sir, when I double click on it... it opens. Even if I RMB on a file and say open it will load the file in eDrawings. I am at a loss here.
