Task Manager Process StandAlongSlv.exe

We recently upgraded from SW2008 to SW2010 SP2.1. I now notice we have a process running called StandAlongSlv.exe which is supposed to be related to Flow Simulation.

We use Simulation rarely if at all. I like to keep my running processes minimal. Are there any issues with setting this process to manual instead of Automatic?

None whatsoever. I set mine to manual so that it will kick off when needed instead of just sitting there. If you do need on before running a study, just turn it on. It's not difficult. Like you, I hate seeing processes running that aren't being used. I have fewer than 40 when I start my laptop and I like it that way. Currently with EPDM, SQL Server, Indexing and half a dozen other things running I'm just under 70. Time for a reboot.
