I did the following steps:

  • Close the sketch and do the following:

    1. Click the Design Library tab  to open the Task Pane.

    2. Click *the pin* to pin down the Task Pane, and select Design Library .

    3. Browse to folder where you want to add the library feature.

    4. Press Ctrl and in the FeatureManager design tree, select the features you want to save as a library feature.

  • [Do not include the base feature as a part of the library feature. If you include the base feature, the base will be part of the library feature (*.sldlfp) when you drag it to a model.]

      1. Hold down Ctrl, and drag the features to the lower panel of the Task Pane.

    I also tried:

    1.     Click the Design Library tab

    2.     Click 'Add to Library'

    3.     Select the feature to add

    4.     Name the feature

    5.     Click the green check mark

Depending on which folder I choose to save the file in I either get this error:

    'Failed to save file'

    or

it appears to save, but there is no feature in the library files.

I did find a copy of the sldflp file located here:

    C:\Program Files\SolidWorks Corp\SolidWorks\Toolbox

How do I move it so it shows up inn the task pane?

    Any suggestions?
