We are running SWX 2010 & on (1) of the stations the operator has lost his measurement box, the command still functions but the window that shows the numerical dat will not appear
anyone have any ideas on a fix please advise!

Try this:
Close SolidWorks.
Go in to regedit >> \HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\SolidWorks\SolidWorks <YEAR>\General
where SolidWorks <YEAR> is the SW release you are having problems with.
Scroll down to "Measure Dialog position" >> RMB >> Modify. The first two numbers are co-ordinates of right hand corner of the window using the Windows Desktop co-ordinate system (where 0,0 is the top right corner of your desktop). Change the co-ordinates to something like 40,40.
Restart SolidWorks and try using the Measure tool.
Of course, standard warning/disclaimer about mucking around with your registry, backup beforehand etc, etc. should go here.
