Every time I am workin on a drawinf SW2010 crashes on me. It later asks if I want to retrieve the file I was workin on but no file is found once I click OK. Can somebody tell me why SW2010 is crashing.
I'm using a Dell Precision M6300 bought 2 years to run exclusively SW. Originally, it was loaded with XP Pro 32, but came with Vista 32 and 64. I elected to leave Vista in the box . With the exception of the known minor issues, it ran flawlessly. Until now.
Over the weekend, I nuked the machine, loaded Windows 7, updated all DELL drivers from their portal (including NVIDIA drivers), then loaded SW2010 with sp2.1.
CRASH CRASH CRASH CRASH CRASH CRASH I can't give you any more details. At least every ten minutes it "is no longer responding" and I must close SW and restart.
Another extremely annoying new item is a black screen. When working in context with assemblies and editing parts, for no reason the graphics area turns black and nothing short of closing the file and opening it back up resolves the issue.
If you need more specifics, I'll be more than happy to supply them if asked in detail. Until then, I'm seriously thinking of returning back to XP before this gets too far along.

did you do a clean install of SW2010 or did you update SW2009 to 2010? what windows version XP, XP64, Vista, Vista64, Windows 7, Windows 7-64?????? whats your graphics card, lastest drivers...how many other programs are running as you use SW....
we need more info than it crashes.
