408 views and no answers. come on guys. Any ideas? Appreciate anyboys idea on the situation. Thanks.
Which OS ?
x32 or x64 ?
What anti-virus program ?
Are you using the graphics driver specified at http://www.solidworks.com/sw/support/videocardtesting.html
What have your VARs suggested ?
What kind of "lag" are you getting? When rotating models? When loading models? When rebuilding models?
Do you keep realview on? shadows?
What kind of models do you work with? Complex surfacing, or basic shapes? Large or small assemblies, 50, 500, or 5000 components?
Standard suggestions for you to try while you respond to my above questions:
Go to your nVidia control panel, under 3D settings, and select advanced settings. There should be a list of software you can optimize for. Make sure to set it to either "Solidworks" or "Dassault Systemes Solidworks". Also, make sure anti-aliasing is turned OFF, and that v-sync (vertical sync) is turned OFF.
Make sure you are running the correct video driver: http://www.solidworks.com/sw/support/videocardtesting.html

Also, how much hard drive space do you have left? How old is your hard disk? When is the last time you ran defrag? A bad or full hard drive can also cause these symptoms.

Hey Charles, Sorry Im just now responding, been out of town for a couple weeks. I am only dealing with assemblies with around 50-300 parts. So not reall that big. I dont experience any lag or crashes when I deal with parts. Its mainly just assemblies. Like this morning Im designing a filter that is just a cylinder with some filters mounted in the top of it and it crashes on me when I do random features. Sometimes when Im just creating a sketch. Not trying to do anything complex. Anyway to answer some of your questions. I use 50-300 part assemblies. im running the 16 bit SW. I have 4GB of ram. uploaded the latest driver for my nvidia. My hardrive is half full but I havent defragged it in a little while. I might try that today. Any other ideas? Ill try your suggestions and get back with you. Thanks a lot.
I am having the same problem with no fix yet.
