I believe I have NEARLY sorted out our use of the toolbox and have resigned to assigning part numbers to the toolbox parts using favorites.  The problem I come across is that this doesn’t seem to be compatible with our use of the custom properties tab to add part numbers to populate our BOM.

Currently we assign part numbers to our assemblies and parts using the custom property tab which is linked to a custom property. Our BOM template then pulls this custom property for our part number.  The problem is that this is not the same as the part number property assigned by toolbox parts.  We would like to have our BOM to work for both our toolbox parts and our assigned part number(for our designed parts).

I am not sure if the solution lies in changing our custom property to be the same as the toolbox part number property (which appears to be the same as the property assigned by the configuration tab) or if it will require a trick in our BOM template to display the part number we desire.

And just to note our, description property (toolbox favorite vs assigned from custom tab) seems to work just fine for updating the same BOM column.
