Hi.

Is it possible to save a section view in a part or assembly that I can import directly into a drawing? I need a section view, but don't want to create a side view first in the drawing, draw the line, create the section view, then hide the first drawing view. The "help" seems to be saying that it is possible, but for the life of me I can't figure out how to do it.

What I'm doing: I'm creating a section view in the assembly, orient the sectioned view the way I want it in the drawing, then RMB->Annotations->Insert Annotation View. Which is where my first issue is: Why do I need to select a plane again if I already have the view orientated how I want it? Anyways...select Bottom, which is facing the sectioned surfaces, hit Orient View to preview....looks fine. So I hit OK (or hit next, doesn't matter). Go to the drawing, insert view, select the view I just created, and the view is orientated correctly, but it's not sectioned.

What's going on?

thanks,

john
