Is there a way / trick in SolidWorks to unfold pipe ?
Please find attached file.
Yes, I want to untwist the pipe to get the straight lenght of the pipe before twisted.
Yes, finally I have to use Sweept with guide curve ( helix ).
Why I not use sweept before because initially the pipe is straight, then I use Flex, Twist to get the the final model.

The attached sample is a sheet metal trick, but it only works for tubing that has bends in the same plane.
A different approach is to use a sweep and establish equations that treat the sweep path as a "neutral line" for the untwisted configuration. You're basically recreating the sheet metal unfold tool. Not an easy solution.
Yes, your solution for using sheet metal only work for pipe on the same plane.
Today maybe our last choice is to create the pipe manually by sweep ( not use flex ).
Then measure the lenght of the helix.
Hopefully SolidWorks will solve this in the future version.
BTW, do you know solidworks partner that can solve this ?
