Does anyone have any idea how to generate a jog in a sheet metal flange? SolidWorks doesn't seem to like when I try to jog an already bent piece of metal. Any ideas would be much appreciated. (There's probably a little checkbox I'm not seeing that says "Hey idiot click here to make a jog in the flange" LOL). I attached a picture of what I'm refering to. We make these a lot to overlap aircraft stringers.
although not an exact replica, you could add relief's (slits) to get it done.
this method would replicate what is achievable with standard press brake tooling.

I was afraid that was the case. I've scoured thru every SW tip and blog site I know of trying to find an answer. At least I can make the part as an extrude along a sketch. It would have just been nice to make as sheet metal to be able to use the flat function.

Thanks for your efforts in making a part. We actually have a flange joggler that holds 1 leg (prevents wrinkle) while it presses down on a shim (desired thickness) to create flange jogs. Unfortunately I can't replicate real life shop work in my model.
By the way, I'm not complaining about this limitation. I'm probably in the only industry that uses flange jogs on a daily need. Maybe it will be an add-in on SW 2045 Hologram Edition - LOL.

If you need it in by 2045 you had better get the request in pretty pronto
Oh by the way it will be buggy for the first couple of years but not to worry there will be a work-a-round on the forum

Sorry, but there is no "Hey idiot click here..." switch to do what you need. This is a limitation of SolidWorks. Very few features involving plastic deformation can be handled by SolidWorks.
While the part can be created in SW as a solid model, it cannot be created as a flattenable sheet metal part using the standard SW functions.
Third party software, such as BlankWorks and Logopress, may be able to flatten the part.
