Does anyone knows a program suitable for making nice presentation based on solidworks files? Or what program does companys use which are designing movies based on SW files? I know it is not SW motion or similar...
It depends a lot on what I need to show off. I frequently use motion studies to create demos of mechanicial movement, generally scenes that are not more than 15 seconds long. Motors, springs, gravity, distance and angle mates work well for simple stuff. If it needs to be photo realistic, then rendering is an option. I generally try to get by with RealView.
If I need a more elaborate production, I export those scenes to a 3rd party editor (like Camtasia Studio). A video editor is useful to sequence the scenes, create fades, titles, add sound and so forth.
If you find me at SolidWorks World, I can show you some movies I've made that just use Motion Studies. I'm pleased with them.
