Hello,
I am trying to model an overmolded part, where I have the models for the first shot and second shot tool design, but I don't have the second shot modeled with the cavity of the first shot in it. In essence I would like to subtract the first shot part from the second shot to create this cavity in the second shot. I need this done because I want to do a moldflow on it for a core shift analysis, but I need the second shot to have the cavity in which the first shot lays.
Sorry if this sounds confusing, I'm trying to word it as best I can, But my basic question is, can you subtract a model's geometry from another model?
Thanks,
Brendan
Assemble the two parts in an assy. Then edit the overmold while in assy mode and using "cavity" command select your substraite and it should remove the 1 st part from the over mold
