Thanks for the updated image, that is much more clear. I have never seen anything like that in Composer.
The shadows are part of the new 2010 technical illustration module for vector output. You can control the color of the shadow, the shadow level (like opacity in a way), and shadow border (thickness and color). I have not seen where you can insert lines or textures for the shadow fill (only fill color) but that would be a possible solution. Maybe an ER?
You can apply textures to parts for raster image purposes. This is a potential solution within the current capabilities of the software. Certainly nowhere near as quick and easy as a few clicks for the shadows output image I posted previously.
I'm not sure about 3DVia, but in Solidworks, if you have a graphics card that supports Realview, there is an appearance you can apply to an entire model called 'Rough Draft'. This appearance makes the model look like it was sketched with a pencil. It's not perfect but it could work for this.
It's under Miscellaneous > Realview Only Appearances > Rough Draft
