Hello,
I'm trying to copy an entire project (assembly plus all the dependant parts) with the 'pack and go' feature.
This is how I proceed:
SW is NOT working.
I click right on the assembly file then select Pack and Go. Nothing ever happens and I can see the hour glass.
My windows taks manager says the folder is running but I have to kill the application to continue.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Charly
Hi Deepak,
I restarted my system and then checked. The pack and go feature is still non-responsive.
Charly
Can you run SW and check from there?
Is this the first time you seeing P & G not working?
ok I run the pack and go feature from SW.
SW is FROZEN but my task manager says that it is running.
Charly sorry but I'm clueless as why its not working on your end.
Can you add the SW version and SP. Your OS and graphics Cards details. Also when was the last time you saw P & G working for you.
Charly,
I had a problem with the pack and go a while ago and got this from my VAR. Maybe it will help.
Dan
edit: After looking at the doc from the VAR, the second question seems to address to your problem.

Deepak, Mohamed, Daniel,
The solution that worked for me came from Daniel's word document.

Question: Why might SolidWorks freeze/hang when using Pack and Go?
Answer: This problem has been linked to problems in the system registry; to see if this is causing the problem please follow the steps below:
1. Close SolidWorks
2. Go to Start->Run type regedit, click OK
2. Browse to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\SolidWorks
3. Rename the SolidWorks folder to SolidWorks-old
4. Retry Pack and Go
I also tried before to register a dll (this solution is described in the links given by Mohamed) but that didn't work in my case.
Thanks a lot!
Charly
Charly,
Its great that finally your issue has been resolved and thanks for sharing the solution
Charly,
I'm glad one of those worked for you. I had a problem with my pack and go's a while ago and that was the same solution that what worked for me.
Dan
This solution worked for me but you better run the Copy Settings Wizard before doing this!!! You will lose all your current settings if you don't!!! or make sure to have a current Copy Settings file saved.
I wish those links help you:

I had an issue with Solidworks 2013. (Not Beta), using the Pack and Go Function. (I'm running Windows 7, 64-bit)
I just installed it on Tuesday (2013) but did a pack and go this afternoon. It would create a new folder in the path I specified to be saved in.
It would hang, and it wouldn't save any file on the new folder. I would close down SW, and finally the files appeared.
Another issue is that it would create a duplicate folder. I could not move the file to any other folder, and when I did try to open the Assembly, Solidworks gave me an error of how the file didn't exist.
I did the second option on the Document file listed aboved, renamed the Folder for Solidworks as Solidworks-new, and it fixed the problem.
Only issue I have now is that I have several folder I can't delete. I will try going into Safe Mode and deleting them from there to see if it works.
Update: Installed Unlocker Assistant (64bit). This deleted the "ghost" folder it had created.
