As you will work out very quickly I am an excel 07 novice.
Ok column B has listed all my parts from the assembly BOM and in column C beside each part have manualy put a description of each part into categories e.g. fastener, seal, machined Part, plasma cut part, you get the idea. Now I would like to create a column on another page that lists all the fasteners by their name in column B.and another column that lists Seals by there name in column B once agin you get the idea.
My question is which excel function will do this?
At first I thought Vlookup but not having alot of joy there.
I would greatly appreciate one of you kind people steering me in the right directon.
