I have an intermittent problem when editing BOMs.  If I double click on a cell, I do not always get the "break link" dialog box.  When I do, all works as expected.  When I don't, I can still edit the cell however those edits don't get saved.  Save and exit the drawing, close and reopen the assembly and drawing, and the edits are blank.  If after editing the cell (without getting the break link dialog box), the part corresponding to the cell being edited is opened, the custom property has been added to the part file, even without having write access to the part!

This may or may not happen to any cell within a single BOM so it's not assembly or drawing specific, though it is consistent to the parts being edited.  Some are library parts and are used in multiple assemblies thus making this an overwrite issue that can affect many drawing packages.

Is there a part specific custom property edit access toggle?  I've been copying the problem part files to the specific job folder to isolate them from other projects but this negates the advantages of having a common library and doesn't help if the part is used in multiple assemblies within the same project.

Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.  Thank you.
