The first option is just run Mass Properties and it shows you where it is along with providing the coordinates of it. If you want to put a sketch point there, then there are a variety of macros to do that for you. The latest one is a macro feature that updates the point in the sketch at every rebuild.
Go to http://www.kcswug.com/programs/macros/ and grab CG.zip.
Thanks Wayne, I noticed that sometimes the center of mass is shown as any other origin and sometimes shown as 3D x,y,z axis and by itself without the other axis, but not on the same computer. Is it related to the computer itself or to setting in Solidworks 2006?
I don't remember anything unusual about SW2006 but it's been a while since I saw it. I only remember seeing X,Y,Z triad type of display. Sorry.
It has 3 bitmap files and .swp that doesn’t help. Swp files do not opens in my computer. What program is used to open that ? I badly need help on this .
swp file will open only in soliworks enviornment....go to Macro toolbar>edit>browse the particular file ..it will open...
Yeah i was able to grab it. As soon as i grabbed it, it opens the microsoft Visual Basic and says
(My cursor is here)
Set swApp = Application.SldWorks
WHAT am i supposed to do now ?
I want to make a mark on the cg of my wing (my drawing). we can't do it the normal way, "Mass properties", 'coz whenever we will try to mark on the CG , the CG disappears. I know your way is the right way by using macros but i am nit getting it .
Your suggestions would be very helpful
