Hello Everyone,

Very soon, we are going to switch to SolidWorks 2009 SP 5.0. Currently, we are on SolidWorks 2007 SP 5.0. My question is that is there any performance advantage in converting all Workgroup files to the new version using task schedular? I am thinking that files will be converted to new version when they will be checked again in the vault.

For an example, if I open assembly from the vault and I only want to change one part in the assembly, So, when I am done, my assembly and that one part will be converted to the new version and rest will remain old versions. Is there any disadvantage in doing this? Does files not converted to the new version slows down assembly performance?

Actually, this is my boss's idea not to convert files to the new version. I think they should be all converted to the new version.

Thanks in advance,

Outcomes
