How to create a new part from sketch made at assembly?

... and then convert the sketch entities into a new sketch within the newly inserted part.

....this is virtual modeling method. After creating the part inside assembly, if you wish you can save the part externally by using RMB on the part in the feature manager tree and select "save part(externally)". You can assign a diffrent name and can even remove the references to make it as an independent part.
