I have a Weldment that I want seperate into sub-weldments, I first create the sub-weldments, then I update the cut-list to populate my Top Level weldment cut-list whit the different Sub-Weldments
The problem is that when I save the sub-weldments into new parts, all the structural memberS lose their properties, so my cut-list in the sub-weldment drawing does not populate! is this a known issue or am i doing something wrong??? help!

I thought I was in the minority of what I wanted SW to do but having read the posts it seems as though many people want more functionality from the weldments.
I've had cases where sometimes the information carries through but with the same model other instances have not. Sometimes the custom properties have appeared in the cutlist information.
In many cases the only option seems to keep adding enhancement requests.
If you have fasteners in your weldment then you more than likely have an assembly that has a weldment as one of it's parts.
Sheetmetal can be incorporated into a weldment, but NOT the way that you normally use sheetmetal - we make the 'shape' inside the weldment, but when we want to detail it in the drawing, we RMB on the body and 'Insert into new part...' - this creates a derived part that is linked back to the weldment. We then apply sheetmetal to this derived part and then show this in the drawing set - works a treat :-).
E.g. I would create an excavator bucket as a weldment (it would also have a higher assembly that would contain the bucket weldment, plus the other bolt on bits), we then save the curved items out to new parts and do the sheetmetal for detailing.

When you say "Apply Sheetmetal to the derived part", you create a Boss extrude on your weldment, then save the body as a part and inserting bends and rips to that solid?

Work around to be able to detail chunks of a weldment but still keep the cut list item number & details per the full weldment is to create configurations of the various elements / 'sub-weldments' and then HIDE the bodies that you don't want to see. This will keep the item balloons the same as the full weldment, plus you can drop in the normal weldment cut list and you don't need to re-imput all the cut list details again, as you would if you had created a sub-weldment.
