I have a weldment configuration of a post and plates. All that changes is the lengh of the post.
I've inserted the part in an assembly and created a BOM. Problem is the length of the part defaults to the active configuration in the part file making the BOM incorrect.
Anyone else seen this happening?
SW2008 - Weird you can put a BOM in the drawing of a part and dissolve the weldment but not when in an assembly drawing. In the part drawing it seems to have a similar behaviour - if the weldment is dissolved the qty displayed is the active configuration's length.
I have reported it to my VAR and I'm trying to find out if it's a quirk of my install/machine. (SW2009)

An SPR has been raised with medium priority.
Be warned that when using the new functionality of the 2009 bom/cutlist and it has a weldment with a configuation then the bom could be wrong.
